Hollywood Police Department Honor Guard Officer Derrick Austin will be part of the funeral service for Tarpon Springs Officer Charles Kondek on Saturday, December 27, 2014 in the Tampa Bay area. Officer Kondek was slain December 21, 2014 while responding to a noise complaint at a Tarpon Springs apartment complex.

Also on Saturday, December 27, 2014, HPD Honor Guard Lieutenant Diana Pereira and Officer Dudney Walker will participate in the funeral services for New York City Police Officer Rafael Ramos. He was slain December 20, 2014 along with another NYPD Officer while sitting in their patrol vehicle in Brooklyn, N.Y.

“The men and women of the Hollywood Police Department are honored and always ready to support fellow Police Officers, and to show our respect to those who have fallen in the line of duty,” Hollywood Chief of Police Frank Fernandez said. “It is important for our community to express its deepest condolences to the families of Police Officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.”
