Beginning Monday, a new SunPass-only ramp is scheduled to open between midnight and 5 a.m. Motorists should experience an easier commute when exiting the Turnpike to drive west at the Hollywood/Pines Boulevard interchange (Exit 49).
The new SunPass-only ramp will help lessen congestion by reducing the number of vehicles driving through the existing toll plaza. It is projected that more than 5,000 vehicles a day will use the new ramp, bypassing the busy intersection at the existing toll plaza. Motorists without a SunPass are required to pay the toll with cash at the existing toll plaza. SunPass toll rates for a two-axle vehicle is $0.51; the cash rate is $0.75. TOLL-BY-PLATE is not available at this location.
