Chaminade-madonna football team faces steep competition this season

The Chaminade-Madonna High School football team is ranked number 2 in the State of Florida for 3A schools. But they are facing some tough competition in addition to suffering a loss to a stronger, larger football program: Miami Central. The Lions recently lost to Miami Central 48 to 24.

Shaun Shivers, who has committed to play for Auburn, was only able to rush for 23 yards. Daelen Menard was quarterback.

Chaminade has a strong team, and many seniors have already committed to play for top college teams. Xavier Williams will play for Alabama, one of the best college teams in the nation.

But the Lions are facing some very strong competition. They are playing Plantation American Heritage, ranked number one in Class 5A, and University School, ranked 5 in Class 4A. Also on the ramp this season are Booker T. Washington, number 1 in Class 4A, Miramar, ranked 10 in class 8A, and Blanche Ely, which is considered a good Class 7A team.
