Wondering what to do for Valentine’s Day? Want to prove how much your really love your other half?
Couples are invited to tie the knot or renew their vows at 12:00 noon on the day of romance in Broward County’s inaugural Valentine’s Day Mass Marriage ceremony.
“Anyone can participate as long as they have applied for their marriage license and paid the fee and they want to marry on that day,” said Brenda D. Forman, Broward County Clerk of Courts, who will officiate at the ceremony. Deadline for registration is February 9th.
“We hope to make the wedding experience special for the couples that participate and look forward to this becoming an annual tradition”, said Forman.
The event will consist of a single ceremony that will unite all couples in attendance, followed by a celebration with refreshments and, of course, wedding cake. The couples will also receive a special Certificate of Marriage commemorating the inaugural event.
To be eligible for the event, application for the marriage license must be made between now and February 9, 2018. Applications can be completed at any of the four Broward County courthouses. Standard license and renewal fees will apply.
The Mass Ceremony will take place in the jury room at the Broward Judicial Complex, 201 SE 6th St., Room 03320, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.
The commemorative certificates will be mailed within one week of the ceremony.
