Conservation Pays with Cash and Prizes

On February 1, 2019, the Broward Water Partnership is introduced its brand-new online game for Broward County residents called “Conservation Pays.”

Not only will residents who play get to show off what they know about conservation, climate change and sustainability, they will play for the chance to win thousands of dollars in cash and prizes, with the first prize winner receiving $5,000 in cash; two second place winners will receive $1,000; and three, third place winners each winning $500 in cash.

“For the past seven years, the Broward Water Partnership has been developing unique and fun ways to promote conservation and engage residents,” said Jennifer Jurado, Director and Chief Resiliency Officer of the Broward County Environmental Planning and Community Resilience Division. “This online game is a unique way to demonstrate that while these issues are serious, there are things each us can do for ourselves, for our community and for the planet. By playing Conservation Pays they can win cash and prizes in the process.”

Players will answer questions and complete quests to earn coins as they move through various levels. These coins can then be used to buy videos. The more coins they earn and videos they collect, the more points they win. Each point is an entry to win a top prize. Other prizes will be awarded randomly throughout the game. These prizes include gift certificates to local restaurants, tickets to Broward attractions and various electronics. The game concludes on April 30, 2019.

“TetraTech is our private sector partner donating cash prizes,” said Jurado. “Other prizes were generously donated by various Broward County businesses and the partnership communities.”

To play, Broward County residents can visit ConservationPays.com and click on the “Play” button.  Only Broward County residents can win. But everyone is welcome to play.
