Broward Schools Will Not Offer On-Campus Summer Programs

Broward Schools will not offer on campus summer programs

Broward County Public School students will not be able to attend summer camps on a campus.

Superintendent Robert Runcie said during a presentation that there will be online and remote learning opportunities for some students but no activities on campus.

Programs that are important to many students such as Third Grade Reading Academy, Extended School and VPK will have to be offered online through distance learning.

Other important programs designed to help children go from elementary to middle school and middle school to high school will be offered online.

Runcie said arrangements to offer these programs remotely are being developed. Students who received computers for distance learning will be able to keep them over the summer.
