A21 Walk For Freedom held at Young Circle in Hollywood to raise human trafficking awareness

Concerned citizens gathered at Young Circle to participate in the A21 Walk For Freedom. The participants met on a Saturday morning and walked around Young Circle seven times to raise awareness and support to end human trafficking. There were about 300 similar walks in cities around the world.

“We want to end the problem of human trafficking,” said Greg Howard, who led the walk. Many people are brought into slavery, often by cunning people who can spot a person, usually a young woman in a desperate situation. A large number of the people who are caught up in this problem are women who are sold into the sex trade.

According to A21, human trafficking generates about $150.2 billion a year, 99 percent of victims are never rescued and less than one percent of traffickers are ever convicted. Traffickers look for vulnerable people to exploit.
