All artists residing in the state of Florida are invited to submit original paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, photography, video, computer-generated images, performance, or site-specific installations. Submissions will be accepted from August 1 through September 30, 2016. All submissions will be judged by Katherine Pill, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg.
The exhibition dates are January 21 through March 5, 2017 with an opening reception and award presentation on Friday, January 20 from 6 to 9 pm. The entry fee is $50 per person to submit up to three artworks (images). All entries must be submitted online. Cash prizes totaling $6,500 will be awarded to the top four entries, as selected by the juror. Announcement of the winners will take place during the opening reception. Distribution of the cash prize is as follows:
• $3,000 Best in Show
• $2,000 First Place
• $1,000 Second Place
• $500 Third Place
The previous All-Media Juried Biennial saw a record 383 artists representing 21 different Florida counties who submitted 1,084 entries. Submissions came from Key West to Santa Rosa Beach in the Florida Panhandle. The Best in Show was awarded to Carrie Smith from Clearwater, FL, for her portrait titled Endure.
