Hollywood’s Diamonds in the Rough, Inc. has announced that Broward County Mayor and District 6 Commissioner Beam Furr will be the host and Honorary Chair of its 21st Golf Tournament on Saturday, April 6th at Orangebrook Golf and Country Club in Hollywood, Florida.
“We are beyond thrilled that Broward Mayor Beam Furr, a long-time supporter of the Hollywood’s Diamonds in the Rough organization, will serve as the Honorary Tournament Chair for the Diamonds Classic.” said Diamonds’ Board Secretary, Toni Soldano Thorn, MSOL, Director of Enrollment at Union Institute & University, who is this year’s Tournament Chair.
Hollywood’s Diamonds in the Rough, Inc. was established in 1998 through the inspiration and collaborative efforts of a local group of community advocates, city officials and golf enthusiasts in Hollywood, Florida.
The mission of Hollywood’s Diamonds in the Rough, Inc. is to ensure that all youth in our local communities have an equal opportunity to uncover their unique potential through the game of golf.
“We are excited to put on another tournament to help underwrite our youth programs and are anticipating a sold-out event.” said Janet Moller, President of the Board of Directors of the organization. “We surpassed prior years’ events and had even more sponsors supporting the Diamonds’ charity last year.”
The tournament will kick off with registration and breakfast at 7:00 am, a shotgun start at 8:00 am and lunch at 12:00 pm. The format is a 4-player Scramble. There will be prizes for Hole-In-One, Longest Drive and Closest-To-The-Pin contests, in addition to trophies for the winning teams. A live auction will take place along with raffles for fabulous gift baskets and great door prizes. Lunch will be served by Nikki’s on the Green.

Sponsorship/donation opportunities for the golf tournament offer many levels of support, ranging from $500 to $5,000. Tee hole sponsorships are available at $100 per hole. The organization is also looking for raffle/auction underwriters and player gift bag donors.
