Broward Schools Closing Down all Campuses

The Broward County Public School District is now in the process of closing down all school campuses except to maintain food distribution locations.

This means that administrators, guidance counselors, social workers and mental health, mental health professionals and other school personnel will continue to support teachers and students remotely from home. This will limit the number of people who must be in schools. Some personnel will be requested to report to work if they are needed.

Broward Public Schools were able to carry out distance learning this week. About 15,000 teachers and around 220,000 students from public schools participated in remote online learning.

They are learning through Canvas, the learning management system. Earlier, the District distributed about 82,000 laptop computers to students who needed them. Broward Public Schools will be closed through at least May 1.
