Broward to Get Five New Electric Buses

Broward County has approved the purchase of five electrically powered buses that will be used on express routes. These buses will be 45 feet long and have 55 seats. The County is spending $4.7 million on the buses and this money will include the buses and associated equipment including chargers.

The electric buses will offer a comfortable ride with high back seats. They will be similar to Greyhound buses.

The County is finalizing the purchase of ten electric buses that will be used on regular routes. They will be forty feet long and hold 40 passengers.

“Our goal is to have all buses in Broward County be electrically powered,” said Chris Walton, director of transportation for Broward County.
