Call for Speakers — Do You Have An Idea Worth Spreading?

Have you ever watched a TED talk and thought, “I can do that.”  “I have ideas and insights.”?

Well now is your opportunity.  A group of Hollywood residents, business people, and elected officials are hosting a TEDx event on April 21, 2018, right here in Hollywood, Florida, and are inviting everyone who has a good idea to take part.

The theme of TEDxYoungCirclePark is “Insights.”

The event will be formed around the concepts of original ideas, challenges, passions, experiences, and inspirations.

Define “Insights” in your own terms.
Are your insights about creatively exploring new innovations and methods?
Are your insights about preserving the environment in new and innovative ways?
Are your insights about affecting policies and systems to create a better society?
Are your insights about helping to understand the human conscious and unconscious mind?
Are your insights about empowering the marginalized?
Are your insights about giving you a better understanding of life?

If you answer YES to any of the above questions, the TEDxYoungCirclePark team wants to hear from you.

Why speak at TEDxYoungCirclePark?

The Hollywood TEDx committee is committed to creating an event where participants are challenged to communicate their passions in an exciting and engaging dialogue. At TEDxYoungCirclePark, speakers will give the best talk of their lives and will have the opportunity to discuss their ideas.

The team is there to support those who are chosen and make sure they are ready for the challenge.

The format of TEDxYoungCirclePark will allow speakers and attendees to digest and debate the talks and encourage the exchange of ideas and information among all participants.

About TED

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com.

TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman. The annual TED Conference takes place each spring in Vancouver, British Columbia. TED’s media initiatives include TED.com, where new TED Talks are posted daily; the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as translations from volunteers worldwide; the educational initiative TED-Ed. TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world get help translating their wishes into action; TEDx, which supports individuals or groups in hosting local, self- organized TED-style events around the world, and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.

About TEDx

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

About TEDxYoungCirclePark

TEDxYoungCirclePark was formed by Thomas Gibson and a group of enthusiastic individuals to allow our community to have a stage to share their ideas and make a difference. This group comes from varying backgrounds with the same goal in mind. We are here to demonstrate how our community insights can make a difference in the world. TEDxYoungCirclePark will act as a platform for speakers to voice these ideas and inspire others. It will also enable speakers to share personal experiences, concepts, and talents in a public forum. This event will amaze all those who attend, and encourage discussion and debate to communities far beyond our own. Whether you are on the stage or in the audience, please come and share your ideas.
