Chaminade-Madonna (C-M) College Preparatory is excited to announce the appointment of Coach Andre Torres to the position of Athletic Director. Coach Torres is not new to the C-M family as he has served as the Head Boys Basketball Coach for the last 3 years, leading the team to a Regional Quarterfinal. “I am grateful for this opportunity to lead the C-M Lions and Lady Lions athletic program, and to help our student athletes achieve their goals”, said Coach Torres.
Coach Torres has been coaching, developing and mentoring young leaders for over a decade. With a strong background in player and coach development as the foundation, Coach Torres has successfully built disciplined, hardworking and fundamentally sound programs. Coach Torres also draws from his prior experience as an Athletics Counselor and insight into the recruitment process, NCAA regulations and college placement and admissions requirements to promote excellence in our student-athletes. “We are excited to have Coach Torres step into the role of Athletic Director. His wealth of experience, on and off the court, will help to catapult our athletic program and student athletes to the next level, while preserving our tradition of excellence”, said Mrs. Raiza Echemendia, C-M’s Interim Principal.
Prior to joining the C-M Basketball Team, Coach Torres earned recognition for his athletic program at University School, which included multiple District Championship titles, Miami Herald & Sun Sentinel Player of the Year, numerous All-County team selections and placement of dozens of players in college. In addition to his players’ successes, two of Coach Torres’ former assistants are now coaching at the collegiate level. Coach Torres graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
