ToggleThe City wants restaurants and food establishments to operate successfully and serve the public safely under the limitations of current orders which limit indoor seating to 50% of capacity and require 6 foot distance separation between tables (both indoors and outdoors).
Hollywood’s City Manager has designated Temporary Café Zones in Downtown Hollywood, along the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk and in public and private commercial areas adjacent to established restaurants city-wide.
The City will be facilitating the use of Temporary Café Zone space each weekend, Thursday through Sunday, in two designated areas:
- Hollywood Boulevard between 19th Avenue and 21st Avenues (Downtown)
- Hollywood Beach Broadwalk from Carolina Street to Harrison Street
The locations of these zones and the requirements restaurants and food establishments must meet in order to use these zones for additional outdoor dining space. Use of these zones must comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws and ordinances, including but not limited to the Florida Building Code and the Florida Fire Prevention Code.
The purpose of these Temporary Café Zones is to back the City’s restaurant businesses that have been heavily impacted by COVID-19 mitigation measures, and provide these businesses with the opportunity to expand their dining areas using outdoor spaces.

This will allow restaurants and cafés to expand an additional 10 feet onto the Broadwalk.
The Zone will be implemented each Thursday at 2 p.m. with the closure of the bike lane to bicycle use and end each Monday at 5 a.m. with the opening of the bike lane for bicycle use.
