Diane Israel’s dog Tucker is a therapy dog who has survived cancer twice and is 13.5 years old.
This past Valentine’s Day Tucker participated in the HCCA “Be Mine” Dog Show at Hollywoof Dog Park at Stan Goldman Park and won the award for most obedient dog and the award for performing the hardest trick – stacking baby rings.
“Tucker goes to nursing homes and performs tricks for the people there,” said Israel.
She was among a group of dog owners and dogs who participated in the first “Be Mine” Dog Show. A number of community leaders served as judges. Categories included best small dog athlete, best dress-alike, best dancer, longest tail, longest ears and others.
Patti Ward and her dog Abbi won first place for best dress-a-like. “I enjoyed being a part of this show,” said Ward.
