Elizabeth Sanjuan has been named Hollywood Business Woman of the Year by the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. She was honored at a recent Chamber luncheon.
Sanjuan opened Gallery 2014 in downtown Hollywood two years ago and has since established the gallery and its non-profit foundation as a premier venue for emerging artists, art students and young collectors. Gallery 2014 has hosted fundraising events for Hispanic Unity, Broward County Public Library, World Peace Foundation, Girl Rising, Girl Noticed and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Sanjuan is a native of Hollywood and an alumni of McArthur High School. She worked for American Airlines for more than 20 years.
“I am humbled and honored to have won this award,” said Sanjuan.
She was among ten women who were nominated for the award. Other nominees included Anne Sallee, Cindy Abraham, Joy Satterlee, Chantal Leconte, Maribel Ruiz, Kathy Koch, Adrienne Barker, Linda King, and Julia Yaremchuk. All the nominees were recognized and received a plaque.
They were nominated because of their professional and community accomplishments. These women have made positive changes in the Hollywood community and enhanced the status of women.
Maribel Ruiz, one of the nominees and owner of the Beauty of Wax said she felt honored to be nominated for the award.
