Applications for Hollywood’s FastTrac Start-Up Program are now open to the public. The taught program will help entrepreneurs refine their business concept, identify the components of a strong business plan, and access appropriate resources for a launch.
Pictured above, Herb Conde-Parlato of the City of Hollywood, recently presented on the program. He explained that FastTrac’s goal is to teach participants how to identify market needs, explore risk and success factors, build a business plan, understand business fundamentals, and access financial and human resources.
An important goal of the program is to launch 20 new and successful businesses in Hollywood.
At the end of the program, all participants will receive a certificate of completion and have their business plans evaluated; however, only the top three business plans will be eligible to compete for grants.
Interested participants must have a well thought out idea for a new business, experience in their industry, access to a computer and internet to complete assignments, and some basic market research on their business concept.
To receive a completion certificate, participants must attend all ten sessions and complete prep work (an approximate contribution of 15 to 20 hours a week).
The application period is from August 8 to August 29. Participants will be notified if they have been accepted between September 3 and September 9.
The course begins September 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at ArtsPark at Young Circle. There is no charge for participation.
