FDOT to hold Public Info Meeting Dec. 5 to Discuss 14th Avenue Project

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Four, will conduct a Public Information Workshop on Wednesday, December 5th, from 5 to 7 pm, regarding mobility improvements along 14th Avenue in Hollywood between Atlantic Shores Boulevard and Sheridan Street.  The meeting will be held at the Hollywood Main Branch Library at 2600 Hollywood Boulevard, 33020.

The proposed roadway improvements will include the accommodation of bicycle lanes through the minor widening of streets where possible, shared lane markings, a shared use path, milling and resurfacing, and re-striping.  The workshop will be conducted as an informal open house, with representatives offering pertinent information and answering questions.  Design plans and exhibits will be available for public viewing.

The proposed roadway improvements are:

°Addition of bicycle lanes on 14th Avenue from Atlantic Shores to Rodman Street

°Addition of shared lane markings on 14th Avenue from Rodman to Arthur Streets

°Addition of bicycle lanes on 14th Avenue from Arthur to Harding Streets

°Addition of shared lane markings on Harding street from 14th Avenue to N. 14th  Avenue

°Addition of bicycle lanes 14th Avenue from Harding to Sheridan Streets.

°Addition of a shred use path on Polk Street from N. 17th Avenue to N. 14th Avenue

°Addition of a shared use part on N. 14th Avenue from Polk to Johnson Streets.

 

Construction on the project is scheduled to begin in Spring 2019 and last through Spring 2020.
