Hollywood Hills High School has a lot of talented players on its football team, and they are ready for a winning season, says new coach Brandon Graham, recently promoted after assistant coaching at Hollywood Hills for many years. He also coaches flag football in the spring.

“We have a lot of talent to work with and the team is starting to work well together,” said Graham. “I set high standards and I want all the players to be accountable.”

Ramon James is a front runner to be the starting quarterback, but Holly Nehar, a young woman who has played flag football, could be named the starter and is expected to play a significant role on the team.

“Ramon is a good quarterback and he is getting back into football. He ran track in the spring. Holly’s a good athlete and she doesn’t want any special privileges. She’s willing to work hard and she’s very smart.” Coach Graham is considering her for the starter or even quarterback position.

Other top players include defensive linemen Ben Masuno and Nate Parker. Alexander Shelton is a wide receiver and defensive back. Ryan Burns plays defensive back and Jermille Lucas plays wide receiver.

Graham has a long history at Hollywood Hills High School. He graduated from the school in 1998 and was a member of the football team. He played college football at Howard University, and returned to Hollywood Hills as an assistant coach. He was named head coach in February and is looking forward to working with the players to help develop them into successful athletes and young men.
