Funding for summer camps approved

Hollywood children will have a place to go this summer.

The Hollywood Commission approved a resolution to accept the 2019/2020 Children’s Services Council of Broward County Maximizing Out of School Time – Round grant to conduct four youth summer camps and one after school program in the amount of $582,977.

The grant authorized the required 12.5 percent matching funds to be paid from in-kind staff services. The camps provide academic programs so children don’t lose ground during the summer months.

There are also plenty of fun activities ranging from traditional sports to field trips. The camps provide positive summer experiences for children.
