Local craft brewery, Hollywood Brewing Co., is hosting a brew master competition in September.
The brewery will select six brew master contestants, who will have an opportunity to brew their personal recipes at Hollywood’s BrewPub, a microbrewery on Hollywood Beach, located at 290 N. Broadwalk.
Each contestant will brew their personal recipe, using Hollywood BrewPub’s fully-automated equipment, and have their beer sold at the BrewPub on the beach for two weeks. They’ll supply premium quality basic malt and hop varieties at no charge– the same ingredients they use in their personal brews. If you have particularly unique ingredients in your recipe, you are welcome to bring those as well.
Fifty percent of sales of each contestant’s brew goes back to the original brewer, and at least 10 percent of sales will go towards Save the Manatee Club.
Each brew master is encouraged to promote their personal beer, however they wish, for those two weeks. In addition, if everything fits between the contestant and the company, Hollywood Brewing Co. may consider extending an offer to join their team.
The deadline to apply is September 8 and brewing begins the week of September 25.
