Members of the Hollywood Fire Rescue and Beach Safety Department, City of Hollywood leaders, and residents from the area came together on the morning of Nov. 18 to participate in an official celebration for the opening of Fire Station 45.
Members of the Seminole Tribe Fire Rescue and the Pembroke Pines Fire Department also participated.
“This is a positive day in the City of Hollywood now that Station 45 in west Hollywood is officially opened,” said Joann Hussey, spokesperson for Hollywood. “For those living in or traveling through District 45, having this new station with highly trained first responders within close proximity could mean the difference between life and death. And in circumstances when every second counts, having this station close by adds to the overall security and safety within the City of Hollywood.”
People from the surrounding neighborhoods came to show support. After the ceremony, people enjoyed some cake and fellowship.
