Hollywood Chamber Hosts Golf Outing at Grande Oaks

Q: What’s got the highest elevation in South Florida, no palm trees, and on Monday, December 18, was full of some of the most important business people in all of Hollywood, Florida?

A: The Grande Oaks Golf Course, at 29 feet, holds that record, is the only golf course in South Florida with no palm trees, and on Monday was the host of the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s 34th Annual Golf Classic.

Double 1

132 players competed in the day, which included a launcher contest, competitions for longest yardage and closest to the pin, and prizes of free three-year leases for cars, donated by Hollywood Kia, for holes-in-one on two specified holes — no winners this year, although there was one in 2016.  Following the golf, there was a delicious barbecue dinner, silent auction and award presentation.  All attendees received a golf goodie-filled swag bag, so no one went home empty-handed or empty-bellied.
