Hollywood’s government and business leaders came together to celebrate as the Hollywood Circle, a $192 million 25 story mixed use project was topped off. The event took place on the 21st floor of the building which is still under construction. Everyone who came was given a hard hat and a ride on a construction elevator.
“This is important to the redevelopment of Hollywood,” said Charles “Chip” Abele, Hollywood Circle’s developer and founding partner of Gold Coast Florida Regional Center. “We truly have come full circle, from planning and design to reality. The topping off is an exciting milestone because it brings us another step closer to the completion of Hollywood Circle this fall.”
Mayor Josh Levy was in attendance and pleased to see the project coming along, noting the incredible views of Hollywood from the building.
Hollywood Circle is located adjacent to Young Circle Park. It is comprised of three towers of 11, 21 and 25 stories. The development will be completed in the fall and include the Circ Residences, 397 terrace apartments offering pleasant views and an eighth floor swimming pool, club room and health club; Circ Hotel, an upscale boutique hotel managed by Trust Hospitality that includes 104 rooms and suites and a 12th floor recreational deck with a swimming pool and bar. There will be a gourmet restaurant called Olivia and a 46,000 square foot Publix grocery store and additional retail space.
Gold Coast Florida Regional Center is also moving ahead with plans for a mixed use development at Block 40. This is the site of the former Great Southern Hotel in Downtown Hollywood. “Hollywood Circle and Block 40 will attract a diverse group of residents and visitors to the city,” said Abele. “We believe they will play a key role in the continued revitalization of Downtown Hollywood.”
Those who attended the celebration enjoyed an opportunity to socialize and see some wonderful views of Hollywood and the ocean.
