Hollywood Commission Agrees to Purchase of 358 Active Shooter Kits

During the February 21 meeting, the Hollywood Commission approved some major purchases, including the expenditure of federal law enforcement forfeiture funds. The money will be used to purchase 358 active shooter response kits in an amount not to exceed $230,096.

It agreed to authorize city leaders to apply for and if awarded, accept, a Victims of Crime Act Grant Proposal to the Office of the Attorney General, State of Florida for the funding for a Police Department victim advocate in the amount of about $71,547, and to authorize the in-kind match requirement in the amount of $17,886.

In addition, the Commission agreed to increase the estimated annual expenditure of $30,000 to $70,000 with Boyd Accessory & Design, for the remainder of the initial one year contract period, to provide lettering of police and general fleet vehicles.
