The Hollywood Commission passed an ordinance that prohibits electric scooters in Hollywood.
This ban extends from the westernmost section of Hollywood City to the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. This new regulation prohibits the sale, lease, and rental of e-scooters.
Mitch Anton, a Hollywood resident, voiced concern at the commission meeting.
He noted that the low volume of police forces on the Broadwalk and in other areas of Hollywood would hinder the enforceability of the ban.
Anton’s concern foreshadows possible illicit use of e-scooters.
