Hollywood Hills High School Raiders Team Wins County Championship

Hollywood Hills High School Raiders team wins a county championship

The Hollywood Hills High School Entrepreneur and Leadership Military Academy recently achieved a major success. Their Raiders team won the Broward County JROTC competition.

The Hollywood Hills team was among 44 teams that competed in a series of physical tests.

The competitors were evaluated on a 5K run, crossing a rope bridge, flipping a tire weighing between 400 and 700 pounds, carrying a person one mile.

This was considered a major accomplishment for the program.

Blake Jackson, the student who runs the Raider team, said, “It takes a lot of dedication and team work to do well in this competition. It is very important for everyone on the team to work together. It is a demanding competition.”

Christina Llanes, a leader in the Raiders program, said, “Everyone has to work together. No one wants to let the team down.”

First Sergeant Manual Valdez, the senior instructor for Army JROTC, was pleased with the results of the competition. “The students worked very hard for this,” he said.

Next, the Military Academy Raiders team will compete in the state competition.
