The Hollywood Hills High School Marching Band participated in the Florida Bandmasters Association marching band assessment at Coral Springs High School. The Marching Spartans were among a large group of Broward County high school marching bands that were evaluated on marching, music and performance skills. The Spartans received a good evaluation.
“I think we did very well today,” said Band Director Angela Maxion. She is in her first year as the director of the Hollywood Hills band, and she plans to develop the band. “It takes getting the students motivated. And it takes time and patience to achieve success,” she said.
Samantha Singer, a drum major and clarinet player, said she believed the band performed well during the assessment.
