Hollywood Lawyer appointed to Police Athletic League Board

Alessandra Stivelman, a Hollywood lawyer has been appointed to the Hollywood Police Athletic League (PAL) Board.

“I want to get the word out about the Hollywood Police Athletic League and get a tutoring program in place. I live and work in Hollywood and I want to contribute to the community. I want to help with fundraising,” said Stivelman. She believes a significant benefit of the Hollywood PAL is that it allows young people in Hollywood to develop positive relationships with police officers.

Also, a Summer Camp program will be taking place at the PAL facility for 20 young people who were selected by the school resource officers from five Hollywood middle schools. They are all sixth and seventh graders who earned the invitation to attend. The school resource officers will be running the camp during the morning and early afternoon. School resource officers Danielle DeAndrade of Beachside Montessori School and Officer Julie Graziani of Apollo Middle School were able to secure more than $4,000 in donations from Hollywood businesses and citizens. The camp is provided free of charge for all the invited students. The resource officers will take the students on field trips and other activities to create a bond of trust between the police and the students.
