Neisha Cruz loves to share her knowledge with young people. An art teacher, she works with middle school age children during the day loves to bring the world of fine arts to them.
Recently, Cruz spoke to a group of young people at the Hollywood Police Athletic League (PAL) during Career Day. She discussed the importance of education and pursuing one’s goals every day.
“It’s important to be persistent and consistent. It is important to be focused on education. I love teaching children,” said Cruz.
The goal of the Career Day event was to share knowledge and information about possible careers with young people. Professionals from the community participated. There was a pastor, doctor, fire fighter, and hotel general manager. “I wanted to enlighten young people about career possibilities,” said Jennifer Corbo, a member of the PAL Board of Directors. “We had very good speakers.”
Commissioner Peter Hernandez attended the event. He wants young people to know about the various careers they can purse. “I believe it’s important for young people to stay true to their dreams. If they can do something they love, they will never work a day in their lives,” he said.
Sara Lavenka, president of the Hollywood PAL was pleased to see a group of professionals sharing their knowledge and experience with young people.
