The City of Hollywood received funding from the State of Florida to assist low to moderate income residents repair their homes.
The Hollywood Commission allowed city leaders to accept all documents necessary to receive State Housing Initiatives Partnership Funds. Hollywood will receive $202,288 from this program. Originally the city expected to receive about $1.7 million for this program, but due to legislative actions, funding was dramatically reduced. The money will be allocated among low to moderate income homeowners who apply for the funds.
“We have to have a plan to allocate these funds,” said Clay Milan, community development division manager for Hollywood. “Depending on the cost of each project about 10 to 12 households will receive this money. We have a pool of contractors who perform this work.”
