Hollywood wants a train station

Tri rail link

The City of Hollywood is hoping for a train station that would serve passengers of Tri-Rail Coastal Link. It is not known if Tri-Rail Coastal Link will establish a train station in the city, but city officials want a station in the downtown area.

The Commission passed a resolution to jointly apply for with the Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency, and if awarded, to accept the South Florida Transit Oriented Development Grant to implement a station area master plan for an estimated cost of $205,000. This involves amending the Fiscal Year 2017 operating budget and authorizing a portion of the required 20 percent matching funds in the estimated amount of $16,400.

The station would be located on Dixie Highway between Fillmore Street and Hollywood Boulevard.
