Calling All Young Athletes! Kids from ages 5-12 are invited to join in the fun on Saturday, June 15 at 9 am when the Hollywood Y and the Leadership Hollywood Class 43 host the first annual Hollywood YMCA Youth Triathlon.
“The focus of the Triathlon is to get kids educated and excited about fitness and exercise,” said Matt Libby, Executive Director of the YMCA of South Florida. “With childhood obesity at an all-time high, we feel that it’s essential to get the word out to kids that fitness can be fun.”
The big event will be held at the Y on Taft Street just west of I-95, and will include swimming, biking and running for three age groups, as highlighted below. The $20 per child entry fee will include the supervised races, snacks, entertainment and prizes for everyone.
