Hollywood Fire Station 45 is now open

Hollywood’s new Fire Rescue Station 45 is now open replacing an older building that was demolished.

The new station offers private rooms for 10 firefighters. Firefighters usually work 24 hours on and 48 hours off, so they have a private area to sleep.

There is an exercise room, common area, state of the art kitchen, and five unisex bathrooms as well as an office area. Also, the station has two double deep bays and can accommodate four vehicles.

It has the latest fire alert system.

Fire Station 45 is one of the busier stations in Hollywood and runs about 5,000 calls a year. The firefighters moved in about two weeks ago.

“Our new station is state-of the art and allows us to serve the residents of Hollywood better,” said Alex Poli, Hollywood Fire Rescue Division chief.

Hollywood Fire Rescue Station 45 is located at 1810 N. 64th Ave. It is part of the Hollywood Fire Rescue and Beach Safety Department.
