New non-profit to provide free art therapy in Hollywood for people after a loss of a loved one to suicide

Hollywood YMCA opens doors to community after Irma; sets up day camp for kids out of school

Clean-up is nearly complete and the Hollywood YMCA opens tomorrow morning, Thursday, September 14 from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. and throughout the weekend. Everyone is welcome, regardless of membership status. They have showers and A/C plus they are offering a special day camp for kids Thursday and Friday. What’s Open in Hollywood?

According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), more than 40% of businesses never reopen after a disaster, and for those that do, only 29% were still operating after two years. As South Florida recovers from Irma, we’re compiling a list of local businesses that are now open to the public and encouraging the community to shop local whenever possible.  Most places are accepting cash only.
