Red light cameras are not coming back to Hollywood.
The City’s contract with American Traffic Solutions (ATS) has been terminated. The City has developed an agreement with ATS to leave the poles in place for Hollywood’s future use as it continues to develop the Closed Circuit Television Camera network.
The right light cameras in Hollywood have not been in use for several months after the Fourth District Court of Appeal ruled that there would need to be significant changes to the program.
The City worked for several months to negotiate a new contract with ATS that would reduce the City’s cost to operate the program, but the City was not able to reach an agreement with the vendor that met the City’s needs.
