NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (Dec. 4, 2014) – A dedication to excellence in academics, the arts or athletics, paired with a passion for community service and demonstration of leadership, has earned 10 Scheck Hillel Community School students merit-based scholarships from the school. The outstanding students in grades 6-12 were honored during a recognition ceremony and student assembly and formally inducted into the school’s Jaime and Raquel Gilinski Hillel Ambassador Program.

Now in its sixth year, the program created by Jaime and Raquel Gilinski recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional commitment to education and Scheck Hillel, encouraging lifelong learning and development of leadership potential.  The program encourages students to act as ambassadors to the extended community, showcasing the Scheck Hillel mission through accomplishment and talent – in the classroom, on the field, on stage or through a community project.

“The Jaime and Raquel Gilinski Hillel Ambassador Program is a true reflection of Scheck Hillel’s mission to inspire students to become exemplary global citizens with a strong Jewish identity,” said Head of School Ezra Levy, Ed.D. “These students’ commitment to academic excellence and character development, combined with their community involvement and core values, make them stand out among our already exceptional student body. We are grateful to Jaime and Raquel Gilinski for having the vision to create such opportunity for our students.”
