Countrywide, Kona Ice has contributed over $40 million to community-oriented organizations since its inception in June 2007. A decade later, in June 2017, neighborhood resident Gretchen Litzenberg unveiled Kona Ice of Hollywood Beach and has given more than $1,434. Their dedication to giving back to the communities they operate in is a crucial aspect of their mobile franchise.
Kona Ice is structured so that franchise owners always allocate a portion of their earnings to various local charities. Since establishing her enterprise, Gretchen has been meandering the streets putting smiles on kids’ faces and supporting various organizations in their fundraising efforts. She took part in two Christmas in July occasions during which she distributed complimentary Konas to the children at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and their families.
“The charity element played a significant role in our decision to opt for Kona Ice,” expressed Litzenberg. “It’s an amazing sensation to have such a significant impact on the lives of children and families in our vicinity.”
In addition to fundraising activities, frequented locations for the ice truck involve appearances across Hollywood Beach at various gatherings. Litzenberg’s truck also adheres to routine weekday and weekend schedules.
“Our Kona Ice venture has connected us with the community in a manner we hadn’t anticipated,” she remarked. “The delight our truck brings to individuals is invaluable. It’s truly fulfilling to be able to bring such positive energy to Hollywood Beach.”
Gretchen will persist in supporting local school associations, sports teams, and community groups through large-scale functions and private reservations.
