Broward Reads for the Record is an annual campaign that was launched over a decade ago to highlight the importance of building early literacy and language skills for young children.
A project spearheaded by early-childhood advocacy group Jumpstart, RFTR has the same book read to thousands of children across the country on the same day.
In Broward alone this year, copies of one book, “Thank you, Omu”, were distributed and read by approximately 1000 volunteers, to 40,000 pre-K, kindergarten and first grade classes across the County.
“I don’t know who had more fun, the kids or me!,” said Drulard.
All the students agreed that they had fun and learned something new.
