Dressed in Mardi Gras attire, thousands of South Floridians flocked to Downtown Hollywood to enjoy perfect weather, live musical entertainment, dance in the streets and patronize Hollywood Boulevard bars and restaurants last weekend.
In keeping with Mardi Gras traditions based on New Orleans, many of the participants organized themselves in Krewes. They dressed up, created floats and then marched together in the parade.
“We had a lot of fun today and we hope this is even bigger next year,” said Lu Rudawsky. “It is fun to come out and have some fun with friends.”
Nicole Alcaro agreed. She also participated in the parade. “The weather was great and we had a lot of fun.”
