McArthur football team deals with challenges and strong competition

The McArthur football team defeated Cooper City 33-7 during a Thursday night game.

The McArthur High School football team has faced some challenges this season. The Mustangs have lost games against some of the strongest teams in Florida including Chaminade Madonna and Cardinal Gibbons, and they have played well and defeated some good teams such as University School and American.

They defeated cross-town rival South Broward. They lost to a powerhouse Miramar team but that loss has been vacated because Miramar used an ineligible player. The Mustangs have a very good defense but their offense has struggled with penalties and mistakes.

“We are focusing on Mustang Strong. We have to learn to overcome adversity.” said Coach Pierre Senatus. “If we do well the rest of the season, we can qualify for the playoffs.”

Ruben Hyppolite continues to lead the McArthur defensive effort at linebacker. Isaiah Finnie, a good overall athlete, has played well. Vemir Cadet has also played well in recent games.
