The McArthur High School baseball team is doing very well at about mid season.
The Mustangs defeated a good Monarch High School team recently. Shortstop Yordys Valdez is playing very well and receiving strong interest from most Major League Teams. He is expected to receive a high draft pick. A large number major league scouts were at the game. Yordys is a good fielder and good hitter, according to assistant coach Salvatore Grilli.
Yordys said he has a passion for baseball and wants to play professional baseball.
Other top players for the Mustangs include Miguel Martinez. He pitched well against Monarch. Josue Figueroa is also a top player.

During a recent tournament at J.P. Taravella High School, the Mustangs defeated a strong Monarch team. But they lost a close and hard fought game to Taravella.
The final score was 1-0. Assistant Coach Salvatore Grilli would have loved to have won the game but he considered a good learning experience for the team.
He was pleased with Ulises Rodriguez, who pitched a very good game for the Mustangs. “Rodriguez pitched a very good game. We lost to a very good team,” said Grilli.
