The McArthur High School Marching Band is looking forward to a big year.
The marching band has about 140 members and is a popular activity at McArthur.
“We are excited about this year,” said Charles Moorer, band director. “This year it is all about us. We are bigger and better and we are a cohesive unit.”
Being in band means joining a large family. Band members love to practice together and they enjoy music. “The kids love being. They love to work hard in practice and they enjoy being together,” said Moorer.
Jazmine Georgia, the band captain and a piccolo player loves the McArthur band. “I enjoy playing music and I love the band family. It is exciting to be in the band,” she said.
The McArthur Marching Band will perform at football games, band competitions and at community events. During a recent football game, the band gave a rousing and enthusiastic performance. The band members performed well and they had fun.
