Construction is going well at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport
Construction projects are ongoing at Fort Lauderdale – Hollywood International Airport. These projects may have some impact on travelers today, but they will have a positive impact on the future travel experience.
Work is taking place on the roadway and garage wayfinding signage project. The work involves replacing and upgrading all of the signage in the garage and roadway system.
Terminal 2, 3 and 4 are in construction phase at this time with extensive renovations which include: elevated ceilings, new and larger restrooms, and new technology at the gate areas to improve the passenger boarding experience.
Also, just completed is the Pedestrian Signalization and Crosswalk Project to improve traffic flow.
Work has been completed on Terminal 1 Concourse A and several new concessions have been opened including Whisky River and Rocco’s Tacos. An additional ten concessions will open in the coming year.
Terminal 4 is opening additional space in the Federal Inspection Station for inbound international travelers, according to Gregory Meyer, spokesperson for the airport.
