New Parking Equipment Coming to Hollywood Garages

New and more sophisticated parking equipment installations are planned for the Van Buren and Radius Garages. The Hollywood Commission approved a resolution allowing city leaders to negotiate and execute an agreement that provides a parking access revenue control system in an estimated amount of $672,600.

Both garages currently have outdated systems that are prone to breakdowns. The equipment is not compatible with chip cards and requires cashiers. New equipment will have upgraded security for both cash and credit transactions and locked cashboxes, limiting employee access. Credit card transactions will be sent directly to the processor. It will use license plate recognition and bar code tickets, which are recyclable and can be used on cellular devices.

Firms seeking the contract were recently ranked. Pinnacle Parking Systems was ranked first, Amano McGann, second, and Flash Parking, third. City leaders will begin negotiations with Pinnacle and if the negotiations are unsuccessful, will negotiate with Amano.
