TogglePinterest has always been one of my favorite social media apps.
It’s so visual and easy to use, that I use it for all my design projects to find inspiration from other Pinterest users.
I wanted to know how many Pinterest users are active in Colombia, so I did a lot of research and compiled all my findings and data below.
Let’s get started!
Number of Pinterest Users in Colombia
As of December 2022, Colombia had 5.3 million active Pinterest users. This was a significant increase from the previous year, as more and more people are discovering the benefits of using Pinterest for their personal and business needs. The app itself has achieved an impressive 80 million active users per month in the region, making it one of the most popular social media platforms in Colombia.
I personally like to compare these stats with other countries around the world. 86.35 million users from the United States use Pinterest, with Brazil following in second place with 27 million users. With the addition of Argentina, Chile, and Colombia to its Latin American user base, Pinterest has become a popular choice for many Colombians.
Inn my opinion, I think that’s a pretty decent amount of users, considering that it’s a pretty small country with only 50 million people living in it. Plus one if you count myself, since I moved there last year!
Social Media Usage Statistics for Colombia
As I discussed in the last section, Pinterest is becoming increasingly popular in Colombia. Now let’s take a look at some of the latest social media usage statistics from Colombia. According to the latest figures, there are approximately 5.3 million active Pinterest users in Colombia. This is a significant increase from the previous year.
Android has 54.95%, Windows has 19.59%, and IOS 41.80 million users in Colombia, making it the most popular social media network in the country. In addition, 10.86.2% of Pinterest users also use Instagram, making it the social media network with the largest audience in Colombia.
I could not find tons of Colombian statistics online, but Statistica has done a good job of finding a lot on my behalf. You can check out their website if you need more info about the data that I included in my blog post.
Pinterest Stats Colombia
As I mentioned before, the number of active Pinterest users in Colombia is estimated to be around 5.3 million. This is a testament to the growing popularity of the app in the country. In fact, I recently read a report which revealed that 97% of the top searches are unbranded and consist of 2-3 word queries, suggesting that the majority of Colombian users are not only making use of Pinterest for personal use but also for professional use as well.
10.86.2% of Pinterest users also use Instagram, making it the social media app with the largest audience in Colombia, according to the details on the chart showing google data access for all regions with millions of people, according to this research. With such impressive figures and usage rates, it’s no wonder why marketers and businesses are beginning to recognize the potential that Pinterest has in Colombia.
In my personal experience, and among my personal friends and family members, Pinterest is not so popular. I do have 1 friend that is an Interior designer and she loves to find inspiration before decorating her client’s houses and offices in Medellin.
Instagram vs. Pinterest in Colombia
In Colombia, there is a significant overlap between the users of Pinterest and Instagram. According to data from DoubleVerify, 86.2% of Pinterest users also use Instagram. This makes Instagram the social media app that has the largest audience amongst Pinterest users in Colombia.
It’s no surprise that many people in Colombia use both platforms, as both offer different benefits depending on their own unique strategies. While Pinterest is great for product discovery and visual storytelling, Instagram is great for connecting with users through image-based influencer marketing and engaging with your audience through hashtags.
I always tell everybody that Instagram will for sure remain the best social media network for the next 5 years at least, in my opinion. Except if TikTok takes over the world and becomes more popular. We’ll wait and see!
Key Takeaways
As marketers, we need to understand the trends in our customer’s behavior in order to ensure that our strategies are effective. Based on the facts presented, it is clear that Pinterest is a popular platform in Colombia and has potential for growth. To maximize the success of your product or marketing strategy, use rich insights about your customers’ tastes to drive your product and marketing strategy.
As we have seen, Pinterest’s ability to target users and attribute conversions in a privacy first world will be important determinants of its success as an ad platform. As well as this, influencer marketing is proving to be increasingly effective, so make sure to factor this into your budget for 2020.
I had a lot of fun doing this research before writing my blog post and I hope that you had fun reading it too! I always like to add a bit of personal stories and account facts to my articles about stats, otherwise they could be a bit boring as a user, right?
Conclusion
In conclusion, it is clear that Pinterest has grown immensely in popularity in Colombia over the past few years, as we can see in these Pinterest stats. With the increasing number of users, as well as the high volume of referrals and unbranded searches, this social media app is proving to be an invaluable source of marketing and business opportunities for brands in Colombia.
The presence of Instagram and other social media platforms means that there is plenty of competition in the Colombian market. However, with the right strategies and tactics, brands can take advantage of the unique opportunities and data that this app offers to each user account and use it to their advantage to access account details by regions for millions of users.
