No one understands the real life consequences of being uninsured, better than Raul Despian.
When Despian was in his late teens, his mother died unexpectedly.
In addition to the grief he experienced losing her, he was suddenly faced with the reality of being on his own at age 18. Family members went their separate ways and life was complicated in countless ways that could have been avoided with a life insurance policy.
The struggles Despian endured as a young man drove home the importance of establishing a good insurance plan. “One thing I love about what I do is helping people feel better protected,” says Despian. As time went on, he has achieved success, become a State Farm agent, and recently celebrated the opening of his own State Farm office at 8560 Stirling Road in Hollywood.

“My goal is to serve the community by providing for its insurance needs,” said Despian. “I still remember seeing my family break apart and being on my own at 18 because we did not have insurance protection.”
Despian is focusing on providing auto, life and homeowners insurance. “I can help you protect your family’s financial future in minutes,” he states with confidence. He believes it’s important people have insurance for protection against unexpected life problems such as disability, the premature death of a family provider, or an automobile accident that results in severe injuries.
Despian has five team members at this office with many years of experience. The Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce helped him celebrate the recent opening with a ribbon cutting event.

Originally from Spain, Despian moved to South Florida from North Carolina in 1991 and has been happy to call South Florida home ever since.
After studying Education at Miami-Dade College, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from FIU in 2005 and proceeded to work with State Farm in claims and agency.
Passionate about helping people, the move to agent was a natural fit. With encouragement from friends and neighbors, Despian started the Raul Despian State Farm Agency in July, 2017. “This is a lifelong dream come true for me. And I love the location,” he added.

Grateful for an amazing group of neighborhood friends, Despian makes sure that new customers are welcomed in a way that has become customary in South Florida. He’s fostered friendships with longtime customers in the community as well.
