The Rotary Club of Hollywood (the Rotary) has been promoting ‘Service above Self’ and good will throughout the community since 1926 and this year, they continue their tradition on February 6, hosting their 2nd annual garage sale to raise funds for the distribution of dictionaries to every 3rd grader in Hollywood.
“We raised so much last year, that we’re going to make it an annual event,” explains Harry Finkelstein, spokesperson for the Rotary.
Since its inception, the Rotary has donated more than $3,000,000 to local children’s and other programs like: YMCA, Headstart and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, along with scholarships benefiting the future leaders of the community.
Items at the garage sale will include all things necessary including: tools, clothing, appliances, furniture, gym equipment, anything and everything – with parking accommodations for over 100 people.
“However, it will be packed,” says Harry, “so get there early!”
The sale will be held 7am to 1pm at the Rotary Clubhouse located at 2349 Taylor Street in Hollywood.
Also be sure to attend their 59th Fundraising Auction to be held Mothers Day weekend, May 5th through May 7th, with all proceeds returned to the community through annual scholarships given to students at: South Broward High School, McArthur High School, Chaminade-Madonna Preparatory and Hollywood Hills High School.
