Season Recap: Hollywood high school football teams

Most of the Hollywood high school football teams enjoyed some success this season.

McArthur defeated Coconut Creek 47 to 14 in the last game of the regular season. The Mustangs finished with a 7-2 record and a district championship. They earned a place in the state playoffs and will play a strong Fort Lauderdale High School team. The Mustangs are loaded with talented athletes, many of whom have received college football scholarship offers.

South Broward won its last game against Flanagan 43 to 20. The team finished with a 6-4 record.

The Bulldogs have earned a place in the state playoffs. They will play St. Thomas, one of the strongest and most respected high school teams in the United States.

Some polling services have St. Thomas ranked number one of all teams.

Chaminade Madonna has also enjoyed success this year. The Lions defeated Everglades 45 to 0, and finished with an 8-2 record.

The Lions play in the 3A category, that is the smaller school category. But they have competed and won against some of the strongest teams in Florida, including Miami Central and McArthur.

The Lions have many talented players who have received college football scholarship offers. The team they will play in the state playoffs has yet to be announced.

The Lions have been ranked as the best team in Class 3A this season and should have a strong playoff run.
