Today, the Clifford H. “Ted” Rees, Jr. Scholarship Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation associated with the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) and the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), announced that it will award scholarships worth $62,000 to 36 students, including Robert Gardner from Sheridan Technical College.
“It is our pleasure to provide scholarships to these committed students and veterans, and we eagerly anticipate their entry into the industry,” stated Stephen Yurek, President and CEO of AHRI. “Each year, the Foundation steps in to support these budding technicians, thereby encouraging careers in the field and helping to fill lucrative positions that cannot be outsourced.”
“At ACCA, our top priorities are supporting workforce development and employee retention initiatives, and we are delighted to collaborate with both the Rees Scholarship Foundation and AHRI to assist contractors in attracting and keeping skilled workers,” remarked Barton James, President and CEO of ACCA. “These scholarship grants also align with ACCA’s efforts with President Trump and his commitment to America’s workforce, aimed at creating educational avenues to strengthen our labor pool. Congratulations to these exceptionally deserving young men and women; we look forward to your growth in our industry and your future as leaders.”
